SKILL.md

Traction SEO Content

Use this skill to test whether organic search or content can acquire meaningful customers, not just traffic.

Source Traceability

Primary source: Traction, chapters 12-13 and the appendix. Authoring notes: converted lines 1628-1862 and 3341-3346.

Strategy Options

  • Fat-head SEO: validate high-volume, high-intent keywords before investing.
  • Long-tail SEO: create many useful pages around specific customer needs.
  • Content marketing: publish surprising, useful, data-rich, or opinionated

material that attracts and converts a specific audience.

  • Guest content and amplification: use other audiences to jump-start the

core organic strategy.

Workflow

  1. Define the customer intent or reader problem.
  2. Choose SEO, content marketing, or a supporting blend.
  3. Identify conversion path before content production.
  4. Pick a small set of pages or posts to test.
  5. Promote intentionally; do not wait passively for organic discovery.
  6. Measure qualified conversions, assisted conversions, links, and audience

growth.

  1. Decide whether to expand, reposition, or stop.
