Quick Summary

Goal: [Code Intelligence] Export the code review knowledge graph. --format=json (default) dumps all nodes (functions, classes, files) and edges (calls, imports, inheritance) from graph.db for external analysis; --format=mermaid renders a single file's internal call graph as a Mermaid flowchart in markdown (folds former /graph-export-mermaid).

Workflow:

  1. Detect — classify request scope and target artifacts.
  2. Execute — apply required steps with evidence-backed actions.
  3. Verify — confirm constraints, output quality, and completion evidence.

Key Rules:

  • Format flag (see [Format Mode](#format-mode---format)): --format=json (default) = full graph → .code-graph/graph-export.json (CLI export); --format=mermaid = single-file diagram, requires <path> (CLI export-mermaid).
  • MUST ATTENTION keep claims evidence-based (file:line) with confidence >80% to act.
  • MUST ATTENTION keep task tracking updated as each step starts/completes.
  • NEVER skip mandatory workflow or skill gates.

Prerequisites

  • Graph must be built first: run /graph-build if .code-graph/graph.db doesn't exist

--format=json dumps ALL nodes + edges from the whole graph. --format=mermaid renders ONE file's internal call graph as a Mermaid flowchart (folds former /graph-export-mermaid). Pick --format FIRST (default json), then run the matching branch below.

Steps

--format=json (default) — full graph → JSON

  1. Export graph — Run via Bash:

  1. Export specific files only (optional):

This exports only nodes and edges belonging to the specified files.

  1. Export file graph as Mermaid — Run via Bash (positional or --file flag both work):

Mermaid scope: functions/classes/test functions within the file + internal call relationships (caller AND callee in-file); class membership via nested subgraphs; edge types calls/imports/inherits/implements/tests/depends. Excludes external/stdlib calls, cross-file callers, and CONTAINS edges (shown structurally). Implicit MESSAGEBUS / TRIGGERSEVENT / API_ENDPOINT edges render when present.

--format=mermaid: a markdown file containing a flowchart TD — functions/classes as nodes, calls/imports as labelled edges, class membership as nested subgraphs (e.g., login -->|calls| validate).

Implicit Edges in Export

The exported JSON includes ALL edge types, including implicit connections:

  • MESSAGE_BUS — cross-service bus message producer-to-consumer links
  • TRIGGERS_EVENT — entity CRUD to event handler links
  • PRODUCES_EVENT — event handler to bus producer links
  • TRIGGERSCOMMANDEVENT — command to command event handler links
  • API_ENDPOINT — frontend HTTP call to backend route links

These edges are created by the implicit connector and API connector during build/sync.

Export Graph

Export the complete knowledge graph from .code-graph/graph.db to a readable JSON file.

AI Mistake Prevention — Failure modes to avoid on every task:

Re-read files after context changes. Context compaction, resume, or long-running work can make memory stale; verify current files before acting.
Verify generated content against source evidence. AI hallucinates APIs, names, claims, and document facts. Check the relevant source before documenting or referencing.
Check downstream references before deleting or renaming. Removing an artifact can stale docs, generated mirrors, configs, and callers; map references first.
Trace the full impact chain after edits. Changing a definition can miss derived outputs and consumers. Follow the affected chain before declaring done.
Verify ALL affected outputs, not just the first. One green check is not all green checks; validate every output surface the change can affect.
Assume existing values are intentional — ask WHY before changing OR flagging one as a defect. Before changing or reporting a constant, limit, flag, cutoff, wording, or pattern, read nearby context and history, the CALLER's ordering, and 2+ sibling call sites of the same convention. A doc stating WHAT without WHY is missing rationale, not proof of a missing guard.
Surface ambiguity before acting — don't pick silently. Multiple valid interpretations require an explicit question or stated assumption with risk.
Assert the outcome your system owns, not the intermediate state your infrastructure owns. When verifying async work, assert the final business state — never the delivery/retry bookkeeping held in shared infrastructure that any co-running process can write. Such a check passes when run alone and flakes the moment anything else shares that infrastructure.
Keep shared guidance role-relevant. Universal guidance must help every receiving skill or agent; code-specific obligations belong only in code-specific protocols.
